Shadowing and Mentoring

After two semesters of graduate school, the Teachers Assistants will become Teachers of Record. In our first semester, we took classes to teach us the fundamentals of teaching, known as the Five Concepts. In the second semester, we will actually be shadowing teachers to see classroom dynamics in action.

I am grateful, however, that we did have the opportunity to sit in on a class, interview an instructor, and study their syllabus. This was an invaluable experience, as we gained a chance to take away some of the discomfort of having so much to learn in such a short time.
